Green Valley Corridor Traffic Study:  the Board of Supervisors will be reviewing the proposed scope of work this Tuesday at 2pm.  That's the good news.

The less-than-good news:  It appears from the meeting attachments that addressing the 42 direct access driveways onto Green Valley Rd, among other critical issues, are not listed in the baseline scope, but rather as an unrecommended 'alternative'.  Also, approved-and-not-yet-built projects such as Summerbrook (across from the middle school), will not be factored into the study.  Nor will the school traffic, or the Rocky Springs Rd safety issues, or the cut-through issues at Malcolm Dixon road.  Only Alternate 3 includes these things, and staff does not recommend it.

The scope of this study is of questionable help, and we need those of you concerned about Green Valley traffic to please weigh in on it.  At completion of this traffic study, county staff will say "we gave you what you wanted" -  Please let's make sure that they do.

UPDATE 12/18/13:
Supervisor Veerkamp recognized that the Alternative 2 scope recommended by staff ignored virtually all of the concerns expressed by residents.  He made the motion to adopt the Alternative 3 scope, and it passed on a 5-0 vote.  More info on the county website (click here), but the bottom line is this:

The Green Valley Corridor Traffic Study will proceed with inclusion of items added by the community during the public scoping meeting of October 24th at Pleasant Grove Middle School
