3/1/15 update - "what happened at those meetings?"

posted Mar 1, 2015, 7:12 AM by Green Valley Alliance
Two meetings we encouraged you to attend last week were the Community Region review at the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, and the Dixon Ranch presentation to the Planning Commission on Thursday.

1)  BOS Tuesday, 2/24: Staff told the Board that Community Region boundary review would cost $150,000, so Supervisors voted to push it off to the next General Plan update beginning in 2016.  Not unexpected, but a sad commentary nonetheless.  There was a huge crowd for this, largely from Shingle Springs and GVA on the one side, with the developer-chamber-CEDAC opposition on the other.

2) PC on Thursday, 2/26: this presentation was none too detailed, because as we know, the Devil is in the details.
Many residents from Green Springs Ranch, the Green Valley corridor and Malcom-Dixon area were in attendance, as well as EDH residents from the Citizens4SensibleDevelopment group.  The Commissioners were not overly concerned about the project's proposed density.  Those who are impacted had better get vocal and get the word out.
