DESIGNING EL DORADO HILLS circa 2038

Meeting Follow up:

The EDH-CEDAC meeting went off without riots or chaos, with approximately 150 people in attendance.  In summary, the intent of the subcommittees formed is to add community input to the General Plan implementation.  The General Plan is NOT to be changed by this input and recommendations must fit within what is allowed by the current General Plan.  That is, an area currently designated for Commercial use  cannot be changed to be a ball park; that would be beyond the scope of this effort.

If you were unable to attend this meeting, but wish to be included on a subcommittee, contact Steve Ferry at steve@steveferry.com .  There is no website available as yet, and it is unclear where or when the list of subcommittees will be posted.

Info from Steve Ferry, EDH Business Owner:

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors has approved their Economic Development Advisory Committee's request to move forward with the process.  The Board approved a budget of $350,000 to implement of process and now it is the citizens of El Dorado County's turn to go to work.

On April 18th a self selected volunteer board will hold a public meeting of the Community Economic Development Advisory Committee/EDH at the CSD to create sub-committees to address the forward planning of El Dorado Hills.  Subjects, such as, Regional Parks, Parkways and Traffic, Business Development, Housing, Historic Preservation, Retail Preservation and Development, Senior Program/Park Development, and other areas of interest proposed by the audience.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to determine the future of El Dorado Hills.  We can do this beginning the 18th or we can let county staff do it for us, because one thing is certain.  The General Plan of EDC requires that the Economic Element be visited and approved every four years.

We have taken this process from the "Back Room" to the "Front Room" so now it's time we get involved.

Therefore, I ask you to get involved on the 18th at the CSD, because that age old question keeps popping its head up, "If not you then Who?"
